I just realized we don’t have many any pictures of the little guy frolicking around in white stuff this winter since, well, basically there hasn’t been any. But that is OK with me! I think our biggest “storm” in the city this year has been about two inches and even that melted the next day. We’ve been taking full advantage of this unseasonably warm weather in which we’ve experienced many springlike days with temps in the 50s. Woohoo! It allows us to go to the park and do fun things like this…

And this.

Because really, who wants to push their shopping cart in the snow? Psssssh!

The little guy isn’t quite walking on his own yet, but he is cruising up a storm.

Getting closer and closer every day.

I know it’s just a matter of time.

And before I know it my little baby isn’t going to feel like such a baby anymore, is he?
Baby Gaga gets so excited on the slides today, he just can’t hold it in!
Even on those rare days when it’s cloudy and gray outside, when Baby Gaga is extra tired, and when he just can’t seem to sleep off the teething pain or growth spurting or whatever else is going on inside that little body of his, my baby boy gives me moments like this:
And I’m reminded why I am the luckiest mama in the whole world.
In case you’ve ever wondered how many smitten relatives it takes to push Baby Gaga in his swing, here is your answer:

There’s a whole lot of children in that picture, aren’t there? And those aren’t just any children, either. Meet some of the kids of TEAM. I don’t know how TEAM would define TEAM or where the significance of that name even came from, but to me — someone who married into TEAM — I think of them as my husband’s core group of super brainy, super cool, super creative friends from his days at MIT.

Another cool super power of TEAM is their ability to multiply and create super brainy, super cool, super creative, super ADORABLE kidlets. Baby Gaga was so taken with all of them. Each one had him in stitches throughout brunch and the rest of our afternoon at the playground together last weekend.

We missed the TEAM members who couldn’t join us since they’ve relocated to California and North Carolina. If they had been there, the adults definitely would’ve been outnumbered. In all there are 11.5 (one will be born this September!) new members of TEAM: The Next Generation. We were the last couple to hop on the baby bandwagon. It feels good to have finally contributed to the total! I hope these kiddos will have fun together creating a future of spontaneous, silly, good ol’ fashioned lasting memories just like their parents have over the years.
P.S. Redheads unite!!!

Mr. Baby Gaga may have slept through the Boston Pops and one of the most fantastic 4th of July fireworks displays in the country, but he still managed to have a pretty great time celebrating America’s birth the rest of the weekend. We had two (undocumented) family cookouts earlier in the weekend to get us in the mood. After I decided we were too cooked-out to have a third, we headed to the playground instead for a non-traditional pre-fireworks celebration.
It involved water (which felt SO good in the near 90-degree temps!).

Slides.

SWINGS (a new obsession!).

And an impromptu Trader Joe’s picnic.

Later that night those of us who stayed up late walked down to the river, staked out some space on the bridge, and had front row “seats” to a pretty incredible show.

Boston sure knows how to celebrate Independence Day! I have a borderline unhealthy obsession with fireworks. At times they have been known to bring tears to my eyes. I can’t wait until next year when I hopefully will get to watch them through Baby Gaga’s eyes if he’s able to still keep them open until the show.

Telling secrets or pulling a Mike Tyson? YOU be the judge!
Just hanging out at the park on a beautiful Monday afternoon.

Days like today were made for hanging out in your diaper at the park with your best bud, eating each other’s toys, and splish splashing around in the water fountain together. This really is the life!
